From China to Appalachia
This VA250 program is part of our Roots of a Nation Series, made possible in part by a grant from Virginia Humanities!
Grammy-winning American Roots artists Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer join Chinese hammered dulcimer virtuoso Chao Tian in a show that travels from China to Appalachia and beyond. Featuring yangqin (Chinese hammered dulcimer), gourd banjo, five-string banjo, ukulele, guitars, dumbek, cello-banjo, and mandolin, the trio blends traditional Chinese and Appalachian music with global folk influences.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the performance will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Children 12 years and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Purchase tickets here.
