Fragments of Eden Film Screening
Set in her humble Auvergne studio, “Fragments of Eden” offers an intimate portrait of French artist Sophie Grandval, known for her stylized depictions of flowers and birds.
The film traces her collaborations with fashion luminaries such as Givenchy and Dior, her encounters with artists, writers, and philosophers, and a secluded life immersed in nature.
Doors open at 5:30 PM for a reception celebrating the opening of “Plants and Places: Artwork from the Oak Spring Garden Foundation,” and the screening will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. The runtime is 58 minutes. Admission is free, but registration is encouraged. Register here.
This film is presented in partnership with the Oak Spring Garden Foundation, a nonprofit that supports and inspires fresh thinking and bold action on the history and future of plants, including the art and culture of plants, gardens, and landscapes.
