Silver Maple Farm - Goats
Visit this family-owned farm (March through December) and fully immerse yourself in this hands-on farm experience with baby Nigerian Dwarf goats. Arrive at the restored 1800’s barn (complete with quilt covered hay bales) to snuggle, pet and watch the miniture goats with their silly personalities! The friendly goats are used to being handled daily by the owners and their children.
Here is a schedule of the goat snuggle and yoga events (Saturday afternoons); You must register to attend! Walk-ins are not accepted – Silver Maple is a working farm and only open to the public on specified goat snuggle days. Tickets are $30/person, children under 2 years old are free for a one hour snuggle time. Payment is taken at time of registration via PayPal, if you need to make other payment arrangements please contact them directly. To register, click on the date/time that you prefer and that will take you through the registration process. If the date/time says ‘Event Full’, it means they are completely booked, so please choose a different date. Events will be held rain or shine.
Notes:
- Do not wear any perfume or strong smelling lotion. The mama goats are very sensitive to smell and we don’t want them rejecting their babies from them smelling ‘human’.
- The goats are super friendly and inquisitive – one of the ways they check things out is by nibbling. We recommend not wearing any dangling earrings or necklaces, etc.
- Please do not chase the goats – they are very friendly and will come up to you, but if chased their instinct is to run, so please no running around in the goat snuggle/yoga area.
- Shoes such as boots or tennis shoes are recommended.
