If you’re craving a week of good old-fashioned fun—think funnel cakes, carnival rides, live music, and cute animals—the Ruritan Club 71st Annual Clarke County Fair is the place to be! Held August 9-15, 2026, in Berryville, Virginia, this iconic event blends small-town culture with big-time fun. Whether you’re a local or a weekend wanderer, this is the perfect time to experience the magic of this rural tradition.

The fair takes place in the Shenandoah Valley at the Clarke County Ruritan Fairgrounds at 890 West Main Street in Berryville, VA, 22611. Easy access from Berryville’s Route 7 or Route 340. Fairground MAP

Big acts: Don’t miss the crowd-pleasers like the Pageants (August 9), Dirt Drag Racing (August 11@7:00pm), Truck & Tractor Pulls (August 12@6:00pm), Demolition Derby (August 13@6:30pm), Rodeo (August 14@7:30pm), Pig Scramble (August 15).
Live music line-up: The Flashbacks on August 10@5:00 pm, The Hawkins Kids on August 13@5:00 pm and Ryan Jewel on August 15@5:00 pm.
Carnival rides: From thrill rides to kiddie land—get the wristband for unlimited fun!
Livestock & agriculture shows: Come cheer on local FFA & 4-H students as they prove their showmanship and months of hard work.
Delicious eats: Funnel cakes, Ruritan’s famous BBQ chicken & beef (Monday-Friday $18 dinners), cotton candy, and fried Oreos. Pro tip: Come hungry!
Daily contests, pageants, and demos: There’s something going on every single day—from the smooch-a-moo to baking contests to the foxhound demostration.
Exhibits: Visit exhibit buildings showing community members array of ribbons for their flowers, vegetables, baked goods, quilts, artwork and photography.

Tickets can be purchased on-line or in-person at the fair gates (cash only at the entry gates; however credit cards accepted at main gate).

Admission:

Adults = $10

Children 5-15 years old = $5

4 years and Under = Free

Carnival Rides:

Carnival opens from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
$35 “Ride All Night-Wrist Bands” are good for one night only on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Carnival Tickets can be purchased at booths in the carnival area.
Thursday, Friday & Saturday Carnival Rides are 2-5 tickets per ride. One Ticket=$2 or a Book of 25 Tickets=$30
Saturday Night Carnival Special: All rides only 1 ticket ($2 per ticket) from 5:00 pm – 10pm.

The Clarke County Fair isn’t just an event—it’s a celebration of its agricultural heritage that makes Clarke County, Virginia, so special. It is a place where connection to the community is made with neighbors, friends and family. A place that is friendly and welcomes all visitors. Spend one night at the fair or enjoy the whole week with wholesome activities like interacting with sheep, cows, chickens, rabbits, horses, goats, and pigs. The fair has been a way to continue Clarke County’s family legacies in the agriculture industry and for the youth to engage in educational experiences and to learn production and management of farming.

The Clarke County Fair honors its prized citizens by offering these folks free admission and special events. “Free day” ends at 5:00 pm. Please sign-up for the following events HERE.

TUES August 11th is Veteran’s & Active Military FREE Day (until 5pm) 12 noon Veteran’s Lunch in Horticulture Bldg.
WED August 12th is Senior Citizen’s (62+) FREE Day (Until 5pm) 11:00 am Senior party includes entainment and music bingo in Horticulture Bldg.
WED August 12th is Children’s (15 years and under) FREE Day (Until 5pm) Children’s Party at 3:00pm in Horticulture Bldg. includes face painting, hair glitter, and kids games.
SAT August 15th is EMT & Firefighter FREE Day (Until 5pm).
